The pair of male penguins adopted the egg that the only female rejected from a zoo located in Berlin.
Once again users of social networks are witnesses of the complex and at the same time wonderful world of animals. On this occasion, a couple of homosexual penguins that live in a Berlin zoo gave everyone a buzz around the world, after they began to incubate an egg that was abandoned by the only female in the place.
According to information that began to circulate on the internet, Skipper and Ping penguins, both 20 years old, met in the pond of the zoo where they live and have not been separated since.
On the other hand, the caretakers of the place assured that the homosexual couple for a long time already showed their intention to take care of an egg together, as they incubated stones or fish.
Faced with the behaviour of the animals, the workers decided to give them an egg left by a female, so that they would have the opportunity to take care of it.
Maximilian Jäger, a spokesman for the zoo, told the Berliner Zeitung newspaper that the penguins are behaving like model parents, “they take turns keeping him warm, snuggling him on their feet and under a fin.”
For good luck and after 50 days of incubation, the egg hatched and according to data from the AFP agency, the baby was born on October 19, 2018.
In case you thought that Skipper and Ping are the only gay penguin couple, you are wrong, since in other zoos in the world it has been shown that homosexuality in animals is present in at least 450 species.
