At least 29 dolphins have died in the southeastern United States since 2002 by shooting or stabbing.
The Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration of the United States (NOAA) offers a reward of $20,000 to anyone who provides clues to identify the person or people who killed two dolphins that last week were found lifeless in a Beach.
Biologists from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission discovered a dead dolphin in the city of Naples late last week. The animal had been mortally wounded by what appeared to be a bullet or sharp object. That same week was found the body of another dolphin with a shot in the left side in Pensacola Beach, also in Florida.
In May 2019, another dolphin was found dead by a deep wound of about 15 centimeters. On that occasion the reward for information on people who killed the animal was $ 38,000.
