The Joint Command of the Armed Forces of Ecuador reported that personnel from the Captaincy of Puerto Bolívar found 88 packages of cocaine in a container of a Liberian flag vessel that was destined for Panama.

The Communication Department of the Command indicated that the stash was found aboard the merchant ship Sealand Los Angeles, which was going to the Panamanian port of Balboa.

According to the report, the boat was approached by two subjects, who apparently placed the drug in one of the containers on the ship.

The authorities investigated, and when the ship arrived at one of the docks, it carried out a search operation and detected 4 black suitcases that contained 22 blocks of cocaine each.
