Despite receiving first aid, the emergency forces could do little to save the fisherman’s life.
A 56 year old Australian fisherman, was killed on Friday after a giant fish jumped out of the ocean into his boat hitting him with great force in his chest, causing him fatal injury, according to a report from Police Services, Fire and Emergency Territory Northern Australia.
According to the authorities, the deceased man was fishing with his family and friends in the port of Darwin, in northern Australia, when “he was hit in the chest by a large fish that lunged into his boat.”
As said by James Crame, a local fisherman, his reports suggest that the fish responsible for the death blow against the fisherman was a fish known generically as Caballa or Verdel and that it weighed about 18 kilos (40 lbs).
Although the fisherman was transferred to the town of Cullen Bay to receive first aid, the emergency team that answered the call could do nothing to save the mans life.
