In the world there are many types of weddings, but in Mi Peru there is a very peculiar called ‘acuaboda’.
For the second consecutive year, the municipality of Mi Perú, in Callao, held this event where 54 couples decided to celebrate their love with a dip in the water and thus say yes.
This experience was realized in the municipal swimming pool where the lovers attended with the sole purpose of being blessed by the crystalline and purified water.
According to data from the INEI website, more than 32 thousand marriages are celebrated each year in the Metropolitan Area of Lima and Callao.
During the first edition 30 couples were married and attended by the mayor of the district of Mi Peru, Williams Santamaría.
“I would choose you a million times” were the words that Mr. Leiva Velásquez and María Ermilia Gutiérrez Cabanillas said the most adult couple.
The event also featured the chords of the Symphony of the Callao Region and a synchronized swimming team.
