On March 17, 2019 in Tarpon Springs, Florida, a group of divers were 15 miles off the coast checking out an apparent airplane wreck when they noticed something huge. Once they reached about 50 feet below, one of them noticed something slightly covered by the sand. It was a giant stingray that made these divers look like bite size snacks.
At the site of a stingray that big, you do not want to be on the receiving end of its stinger. But there seemed to be no worries for this team of experienced divers who have been deep sea diving since 1978, it was just another day at the office.
Nevertheless, lets not take any light away from this amazing sighting. After getting some shots of the massive stingray, it decides to leave them in peace instead of becoming threatened and potentially attacking. A wonderful rush of adrenaline must come with being very close to a stingray that big.
