Colombian authorities seized a shipment of cocaine on a sailboat that sailed from Cartagena, Colombia, to Cuba.
Units of the Colombian Navy in coordination with the National Police of this country occupied 90 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride, aboard the vessel with flag of Beliga, which sailed in the waters of the Magdalena department, explains an official statement.
The sailboat “Campeador” covered the route Cartagena – Cuba , without the required documentation, notes the press release from the authorities.
The ship and its two crew members, one of them Mexican, were taken to the Coast Guard Station of Barranquilla for a more detailed inspection where “four packages containing 100 rectangular packages were found, with what appeared to be narcotic substances”.
“The alkaloid and the two crew members of the vessel, one of them of Mexican nationality, were left at the disposal of the competent authorities for their judicialization,” explains the Colombian Navy.
