The drug shipment left Ecuador and was heading to Mexico.

After the confiscation of 3 tons of drugs on the high seas, the national head of Antinarcotics, General Marco Villegas, explained that investigations began with Ecuadorian anti-narcotics agents. In the investigations. a uniformed officer of the Police got on the P-3 Orión plane to lead the operation that found the cargo, distributed in two boats located almost 900 miles from Mexico.

The United States Navy captured the 23 occupants of the ships in international waters and sent them with the drug back to Ecuador.

The intelligence work has determined that the mode of delivery is constantly changing.

When the narcos are not detected, they deliver the drug in Mexico or Guatemala. In most cases they destroy their own boats to leave no trace.

So far in 2019, 17 tons of cocaine have been seized, leaving 62 people behind bars.
