US Coast Guard elements intercepted a “narcosubmarine” in international waters.

A US Coast Guard patrol boat confiscated a “narcosubmarine” carrying more than 5 tons of cocaine, valued at 165 million dollars, according to a press release.

The Valiant Coast Guard crew intercepted the semi-submersible in international waters in the Eastern Pacific, they also arrested four suspected drug traffickers.

The “narcosubmarine” was originally detected by a maritime patrol aircraft, then the Guard arrived to intercept them in the early hours of the morning.

“There are no words to describe the feeling that the Valiant crew is experiencing at this time,” said Matthew Waldron, the ship’s commander. “In a 24-hour period, the crew crossed the equator and intercepted a semi-submersible self-propelled and loaded boat of drugs. Each of them is a momentous event in the career of any patrolman. However, as a whole, it is really noticeably and unprecedented.”
