The Secretariat of the Navy Navy of Mexico (Semar), through personnel of the Naval Sector of Matamoros, informed that it carried out maneuvers of medical evacuation of a crew member of the fishing vessel “Oljesva”, which was two nautical miles (3.7 kilometers) south of the Port of Matamoros.

The action was carried out when an emergency call was received informing that the vessel “Oljesva” requested support to carry out the medical evacuation of a crew member who had suffered an accident on board.

It was ordered to set sail a Defender type rescue vessel, from the Naval Search, Rescue and Maritime Surveillance Station (Ensar) of the Mezquital, with naval personnel, to carry out the medical evacuation of the injured crew member.

Once they arrived at the area of ​​the events, disembarkation maneuvers of a male and Mexican national were carried out, which was attended by naval personnel due to a probable traumatic brain injury.

The wounded man was taken to the dock of Ensar Mezquital, where he was taken by a private ambulance to a hospital in the town to receive specialized medical attention.
