One Dead and Two Injured After Falling to the Sea from a Truck in Las Américas Santo Domingo

One dead and two injured is the result of the fall to the sea of ​​a cargo truck (dump) in the waters of the Caribbean Sea on the Las Americas highway.

The dead man is Juan García, 64 years old, driver of the truck and native of San Pedro de Macorís and one of the injured is Luis Encarnación, 45 years old. While the two were injured, one went as an assistant to the truck and the another is a person who threw himself into the sea to help rescue them.

The accident occurred at the height of kilometer 19 of said road, and the causes of it are still unknown.

One of the injured was rescued by a person traveling from Santo Domingo to the East, and was immediately taken to a nearby hospital in a serious condition.

Agents of the National Police and the General Directorate of Traffic Safety and Land Transport keep the area cordoned off, while a large number of people come to see the scene.
