Five people who were injured in a traffic accident were evacuated in Colombia’s Army Units in the village of Juanchaco, Valle del Cauca.
The accident, which involved several motorcycles that had collided, caused serious injuries to five native people of the region, who required medical attention, to prevent their lives from being compromised.
These injured personnel were initially treated by rescuers from the Pacific Navy Aeronaval Group of the Colombian Navy, who provided first aid and were able to be stabilized and then taken to the health post in Juanchaco, where they were evaluated by medical personnel.
However, the health center to which they were initially transferred does not have the supplies, specialized personnel and infrastructure necessary for this type of emergency, given that the wounded had open fractures, exposed lesions and one of them had suffered a head trauma, so it was necessary that the Colombian Navy had Coast Guard units to evacuate by sea, the injured to the city of Buenaventura, Valle del Cauca.
In the port, they were awaited by ambulances that transported them to a hospital center for their attention and later recovery.
The Colombian Navy reaffirms its commitment to the safety and well-being of the entire population of the communities that form part of the Uramba National Natural Park and visitors to the Colombian Pacific Coast.
