Mexican Marines Seizes 1,200 Kilograms of Cocaine in Chiapas.

The Mexican Navy Secretariat, in coordination with the Secretariat of National Defense and the Colombian Navy, secured 38 packages, with approximately 1,200 kilograms of suspected drugs with characteristics similar to cocaine, as well as a small boat and the arrest of seven suspected offenders. The accident occurred off the coast of Chiapas.

This action was carried out after intelligence work, where by means of a patrol operation of maritime and aerial surveillance, a vessel with two outboard engines was sighted moving at high speed in a suspicious manner.

The alleged offenders, surprised, threw the parcels into the sea.

Subsequently, they reached the suspicious vessel and carried out the corresponding inspection, achieving its arrest, as well as the recovery and securing of 38 packages with an approximate weight of 1,200 kilograms of presumed cocaine that were thrown into the sea.

A Persuader type aircraft, an MI-17 helicopter, an Ocean Patrol and an Interceptor Patrol of the Mexican Navy participated in the seizure.

It should be noted that the cargo, the vessel, as well as the alleged violators of the law will be made available to the competent authorities.
