The Iranian Navy will significantly increase the speed of its missile launchers and the range of its missiles and will present the news in the next naval exercises.
The commander of the Marine Corps of the Revolutionary Guards of Iran, Rear Admiral Alirezá Tangsirí, announced Wednesday that “ships that sail at 90 knots per hour will be announced today,” a speed equivalent to 166 kilometers per hour. He did it from the city of Rasht, in the north of the country, and his words were quoted by the Fars agency .
In previous statements on Monday, Tangsirí had said that these are Iranian-made speedboats.
“Today we have missile launchers that sail at a speed of 72 knots per hour, we have also reached 80 knots per hour and we will increase the speed up to 90 knots per hour in the near future,” Tangsirí said in an interview for the Iranian television
He also said that the range of marine cruise missiles of the Navy of the Islamic Republic against surface ships has increased to 300 kilometers, adding that in the next naval exercises missiles will be presented with greater range.
