The stash was on a sailboat off the coast of Malaga where two crew members were arrested, one from Ibiza
The Son Reus incinerator plant in Palma destroyed the 601 kilos of cocaine yesterday that was seized in the framework of the ‘Rabbit’ operation, carried out by the Civil Guard at the end of last May.
The incinerated drug was intercepted by members of the armed institute with the support of the ocean vessel ‘Río Segura’ that patrols this summer for the Balearics. The 601 kilos travelled aboard a sailboat off the coast of Malaga and in the operation two men were arrested, one of them from Ibiza.
After the seizure, the drug has been in the custody of the Department of Health and Social Policy of the Government Delegation. From the analyzes carried out at this time, it has been concluded that cocaine was between 72 and 73.4% pure.
The ‘Rabbit’ operation involved members of the Team against Organized Crime and Drug Enforcement (EDOA) of the Civil Guard in collaboration with the French customs services and the Frontex.
