La Semar reported that the ship arrived at the Port of Lázaro Cárdenas, Michoacán, from Guayaquil, Ecuador, and was destined for the port of Calderas, in Costa Rica.
Acargo of 82 kilos of cocaine hydrochloride , aboard a container of a ship with the flag of Liberia, bound for Costa Rica, was secured by elements of the Navy, in the Port of Lázaro Cárdenas, in Michoacán.
The Secretariat of the Navy-Navy of Mexico (Semar) reported that the cargo was located with the support of an illicit substance detection team, which yielded positive results for that substance.
Naval personnel, acting as Coast Guard, carried out the location operation with the support of the Naval Port Protection Unit No. 63, attached to the Tenth Naval Zone and the Secretariat of National Defense (Sedena).
The drug insurance, explained Semar, was carried out in pursuit of intelligence work, coordinated with Sedena, which indicated the presence of the cargo in a container transported on the CMA CGM Mississippi, with the flag of Liberia.
The ship arrived at the Port of Lázaro Cárdenas, from Guayaquil, Ecuador, and was destined for the port of Calderas, in Costa Rica.
When conducting the inspection, the naval and military personnel located two packages wrapped in black bags, on a roll of wire rod, so the use of substance detection equipment was carried out, with positive results for cocaine hydrochloride.
Inside the packages 70 packages were found with the substance, which threw an approximate weight of 82 kilos, which were made available to the Federal Public Ministry, for the initiation of the corresponding investigations.
