The fire on the tanker Maestro in the Black Sea, which lasted about a month and a half, has now stopped, the press service of Rosmorrechflot reported on Monday.

Turkish tankers Maestro and Kandy caught fire in the Kerch Strait area outside the territorial waters of Russia on January 21. Earlier it was reported that the fire on the tanker “Kandy” stopped on February 28.

“The last fire [fire] went out on Sunday at 18:50 Moscow time. At the place of duty ship “Rescuer Demidov”, – said the representative of the press service.

According to the interlocutor of the agency, the owner of the courts informed of the cessation of the fire. “He was told. We are waiting for the completion of relations with him and, accordingly, we will wait for a response, his decisions, ”the spokesman added.

According to preliminary data, the incident with tankers occurred during the transshipment of liquefied gas from one vessel to another. Of the 32 sailors, 12 were rescued, among them citizens of Turkey and India.
