Two Australians survive one night in waters full of crocodiles and sharks after a shipwreck
A father and his 15-year-old son had to cling to the remains of their catamaran after the boat was destroyed by the surf.
A father and his son survived one night clinging to the remains of their boat destroyed by the swell in waters infested with crocodiles and sharks until they were rescued the next day, reports Daily Mail .
The father, 49, and his son, 15, left the port of Darwin, in the Northern Territory of Australia, on Saturday morning and, hours later, his boat, 5 meters in length, overturned and it broke, after which both grabbed onto the parts that remained floating in a desperate attempt to save life.
Alarmed by not hearing from them, family members reported his disappearance at around 10 pm, so that police helicopters flew over the area with night vision equipment in an unsuccessful search of the shipwrecked.
Fortunately, around 8 o’clock the next morning, a Singaporean boat that sailed around the area located father and son next to the remains of the catamaran and both could be rescued safe and sound.
