Egyptian Fleet Bound for France to Participate in Naval Exercises

Several naval ships left for France today to participate in the activities of the French-Egyptian Joint Maritime Training (Cleopatra-Japian 2019), the country’s military spokesman, Tamer El-Refai, said here Tuesday.

According to the source, the maneuvers are scheduled to last several days and will take place in the territorial waters of the French country.

The training is planned to include many activities to improve the skills of commanders and officers, support maritime security efforts and share experiences, which will increase the combat effectiveness of the Navy, said El-Refai.

The exercises also aim to improve the capabilities of Egyptian forces to work with the latest systems and combat technologies.

During the farewell ceremony of the fleet, the commander of the naval forces Ahmed Khaled conveyed greetings and thanked the Minister of Defense and Military Production, Mohamed Zaki; and the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, Mohamed Farid.
