Be careful not to throw drugs into the toilet: it may make ducks and geese addicted, or worse, turn alligators into dangerous “meth-gators”.
The warning was issued this weekend by police in a small town in Tennessee, southern United States, after a search of a suspect who tried to get rid of methamphetamine by flushing it down the toilet.
“Guys, please, do not throw your drugs in the toilet,” Loretto police said on his Twitter account.
“When you send things to the sewers, they end up in our retention ponds, before going back to the rivers,” she said. “Ducks, geese and other birds frequent these pools and we shudder to imagine what one of them, loaded with meth, could do.”
And in rivers, “we could create meth-gators,” fear the police.
Their warning inspired a wave of jokes on social networks, starting with a message from the city’s public library: “Meth-gators are not allowed in the library unless they are registered.”
