Brazilian Surfer Dies After Being Struck by Lightning While Training

Last Wednesday afternoon, Brazilian surfer Luzimara Souza died due to the impact of lightning she received while training for the next Brazilian Surfing Championship 2019.

When Luzimara fell into the water, the merchant Francisco Eliseo gave him  first aid , according to the newspaper Correo:

“I gave first aid, but she could not resist and we sent her to the hospital. When I returned to the shore, there was another boy in the water. “

After the impact, the Brazilian surfer was taken to Doutor José Frota Hospital, where medical personnel indicated that the young woman could not stand the injuries caused by the lightning .

After confirming the death of the athlete, through a statement, the Brazilian Surfing Confederation regretted the fact and gave the condolences to the family of the girl:

“The most sincere condolences to the family of state champion Luzimara Souza, who last year witnessed the opening of the CBSurf Pro Tour, reaching 17th place in the event, which led her to occupy 28th place in the final ranking ” .
