Around 13.00 hours on Thursday, a 15-year-old boy was rescued at the Muelle de Arinaga, in Agüimes, after suffering an accident at sea. The minor has been transferred by medical helicopter of the SUC to the University Hospital Insular de Gran Canaria with a severe cranio-cervical trauma, according to CECOES 112 sources.
The Coordinating Center for Security and Emergencies received the alert this afternoon that a young man had suffered a blow while bathing in the sea, in the area of the Arinaga dock, and needed medical assistance. The 1-1-2 immediately activated the necessary emergency resources and firefighters of the Emergency Consortium of Gran Canaria immobilized the affected and rescued him from the water.
Once on the ground, the staff of a basic life support ambulance of the SUC assisted the minor and moved him to the soccer field in the area, where the medicalized helicopter crew was located and proceeded to stabilize it and transfer it to the Insular Hospital.
Local Police secured the maneuvers of grounding and takeoff of the helicopter and collaborated with the rest of the emergency resources.
