A diver miraculously survived in South Africa after accidentally piercing his head with a fishing spear that was shot while diving.
The unusual incident occurred on August 31 at a beach in the town of Scottburgh. Pastor and diver Connie Hallowell was fishing when a wave caused him to accidentally pull the gun’s trigger . The spear pierced his face, passing behind the eyeballs, but without affecting the brain or sight.
After the accident, Hallowell reported that he felt as if someone had hit him. “When I tried to turn my head, I couldn’t and realized that it was a spear. I managed to stand up, and I just thought about staying conscious. I screamed so people would help me as I headed to the shore,” he said. Connie
Some fishermen who were in the place gave him first aid and managed to cut the ends of the spear using a grinder. Subsequently, Hallowell was transferred to a hospital where he underwent surgery to remove the object.
The operation did not present complications and the pastor is recovering, without his vision ability having suffered any damage.
