Five subjects of Guatemalan nationality who carried out an illegal fishing task were placed by the Trident Naval Task Force aboard a vessel of the same origin, in Salvadoran waters.
According to the report of the officers, aboard the vessel called “The Jordan”, 1000 pounds of fish were found; 400 pounds of bait and 680 hooks.
In addition, according to the records of the maritime authorities of the country, this vessel is not the first time it has been detected at sea carrying out the illegal activity.
In May 2016, this boat was located, retained and subsequently delivered to the corresponding authorities in the neighbouring country, for the same tasks.
The Guatemalan vessel and its three crew members, whose identity is unknown, were detained waiting to be handed over to the corresponding migration instances.
