The young woman says that when she touched the strange being with her finger she felt that her hand had fell asleep.
A woman named Raquel Williams was walking with her mother on an Australian beach, when they came across a strange living being resembling a human brain, it can be seen in a photograph published Friday on the Facebook page ‘Field Naturalists of Tasmania’.
“Can anyone tell me what this is? My mother and I continue to see it on the beach and when I touched it my hand was numb. It is slimy but hard,” says the message of Williams who posted it on Twitter, in search of someone who could help them identify the sea creature. The young woman says that when she touched the being with her finger she felt that her hand was falling asleep, while her mother had the same thing after touching it with her foot.
“It is a set of small sea creatures that form together tor form the odd shape, also known as ascidia. Possibly the extensive but not native Botryllus schlosseri,” said a user identified as Dr. Simon Grove, an expert in zoology. He also explained that this species “is not so far, in evolutionary terms, from vertebrates.”
Other viewers said that “it looks like a brain,” adding with a sneer that “someone could have lost it.” “It’s the brain of a Canberra politician … it had to be somewhere,” said another person in a comment.
