VILNIUS (Sputnik) – About 40 warships from 15 countries plan to arrive in Lithuania at the end of May to take part in annual NATO training, the Baltic Ministry of Defense reported.
“Some 37 vessels from 15 States will arrive at the port of Klaipeda on May 31 to participate in the annual Balop 2018 maneuvers,” the institution said in a statement.
The agency said that in total about 4,000 soldiers will arrive in the country.
According to the Ministry, the sailors will practice the custody of ships, the search for naval mines and will carry out shooting tests.
Last year, more than 50 warships from 14 countries participated in the NATO exercises.
