The Caspian Flotilla has allocated three artillery boats to strengthen the protection of the Crimean bridge, a source familiar with the situation told Interfax on Tuesday.
“Three artillery boats of projects 1204” Shmel “and 1400M” Griffin-M “on inland waterways were transferred from Astrakhan to Kerch and started fighting for the protection of the Crimean bridge,” he said.
Project 1204 boats are designed for operations on inland water areas. The main armament is a 76-mm artillery gun and a 17-barrel launcher for 140-mm unguided missiles.
Project 1400M boats are designed to protect coastal areas, open roads, inland water bodies. The main armament is the turret-turret machine-gun “Utes-M”.
As reported, on May 17 the State Duma adopted in the first reading a government bill that gives Rosgvardia the right to evacuate ships from the areas adjacent to the Crimean bridge, as well as the gas pipeline and the energy bridge under the Kerch Strait.
The Crimean bridge was opened on May 15 for road transport, the construction of the railway crossing continues.
