The large amphibious ship (BDK) of the Russian Navy “Nikolay Filchenkov”, passing the Black Sea straits, entered the water area of the Mediterranean Sea, reported local sites that publish photographs of his passage through the Bosporus.
According to the Istanbul websites, the Black Sea Fleet warship Nikolai Filchenkov goes to the Syrian port of Tartus, where the logistics base of the Russian Navy is located in the Mediterranean.
This is the third trip of the Russian ship to Syria this year and the second in May. On May 19, the Black Sea Fleet of Russia “Azov” proceeded to the Mediterranean Sea.
According to foreign media reports, BDK and vessels of the Russian Navy auxiliary fleet, as well as chartered vessels, participate in an operation called “Syrian Express” to deliver cargo for the Russian air group at the Khmeimim air base, the logistics base of the Navy in Tartus and the Syrian government army.
