The London court ordered the Russian businessman Farhad Akhmedov to transfer to the ex-wife Tatyana a yacht worth $492 million within the divorce process, Bloomberg reported on Thursday.
According to Judge Charles Haddon-Cave, this decision is dictated by the fact that Akhmedov tried to hide from the court that he owned a 115-meter yacht named Luna. The businessman bought it from Roman Abramovich in 2014.
The judge noted that during the divorce process, Akhmedov tried to hide his assets “in the web of offshore companies.”
Currently, the yacht is in dry dock in Dubai. It is equipped with two helipads, a 20-meter pool, eight small boats and a mini-submarine.
Earlier, the Supreme Court of London had already awarded Akhmedova $ 646 million as a monetary compensation within the divorce proceedings.
In 2012, a former senator from the Krasnodar Territory and the Nenets Autonomous Okrug Akhmedov sold a 49% stake in Nortgaz to Novatek for $ 1.375 billion. Some of the funds he invested in Novatek, Lukoil, Gazprom, Norilsk Nickel, Sberbank and Magnit.
