The Destroyer USS Donald Cook of the US Navy is Heading to the Shores of Syria

In the midst of the harsh White House conversation, the US military appears to be in a position to carry out an attack order.

The Washington Examiner newspaper reported that US destroyer USS Donald Cook left the port in Cyprus on April 9 and headed towards Syria. It is noted that the ship is equipped with 60 “Tomahawk” cruise missiles.

A destroyer of the Navy, the USS Donald Cook, is underway in the eastern Mediterranean after completing a port stopover in Cyprus. The guided-missile destroyer is armed with Tomahawk cruise missiles, the weapon of choice in the US attack a year ago on an airfield in Syria after a sarin gas attack on civilians.

In the next few days, there may already be a second destroyer of the US Navy. Entering the Mediterranean Sea, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing Pentagon sources.

The meeting held at the White House is dedicated to a chemical attack in the Syrian city of Duma, reports  The Wall Street Journal.

The meeting was organized by US President Donald Trump, in order to discuss with the US National Security Council. the response plans to the use of chemical substances by the Syrian Army. The newspaper said that it was about developing the bases for a possible use of force against Damascus since Washington considers the Syrian Government responsible for the incident in Duma.

In addition, in the framework of the meeting, US President Donald Trump said he will decide on the US response to the chemical attack in Syria in the next 24 to 48 hours. “Probably before the end of today,” he added. “Everyone will pay a price,” he said.

The president condemned the attack in East Ghouta last Saturday and called it “atrocious”, adding that “it is a matter of humanity and you can not allow this to happen.”

Likewise, Trump has detailed that he will meet this afternoon with the Pentagon leadership. “No action is ruled out,” said the president.
