South Korean Ambassador to the Russian Federation U Yun Gyn expects that the issue of the Russian ship Sevastopol detained in the port of Pusan will be finally resolved on Tuesday, Interfax reports.

“We expect that the issue on the ship Sevastopol will be finally resolved tomorrow,” he told reporters in Moscow on Monday.

The diplomat stressed that, despite the current situation, relations between Moscow and Seoul “will always develop.”

As it became known last Saturday, the Russian ship Sevastopol, owned by the coastal company Hudson, was detained in the South Korean port of Pusan. The shipowner stated that this was due to US economic sanctions imposed on the company.

At the same time, he stressed that the ship was never in North Korea and is not connected with it in any way. The shipowner claims that the company’s losses in connection with the incident amount to millions of dollars.
