A baby dolphin of just one week has been found disoriented and in a weak state on the beach of Estacio Sur, in La Manga ( Murcia ).
The members of the Plan of Surveillance and Rescue in Beaches and Rescue in the Sea of the Region of Murcia (COPLA Plan) and personnel of the Wildlife Recovery Center were in charge of their rescue.
The Emergency Coordination Center 112 Region of Murcia received several calls starting at 5:52 pm reporting the sighting of a dolphin calf on the Estacio Sur beach.
The place was attended by lifeguards from the beach post and informed that it was a baby dolphin that was circling very close to the shore and looked weak. Emergencies reported the warning to the Wildlife Recovery Center, which sent a veterinarian to the area.
The marine coordinator of the COPLA Plan in the area mobilized a rescue vessel to support the rescue. Finally, after the arrival of the veterinarian, the dolphin was rescued from the beach and transferred to the Wildlife Recovery Center to be treated by technical personnel.
