A powerful earthquake, recorded on Tuesday near the southern coast of Alaska, caused great excitement at sea, the report said on the website of the US national center, which collects information from oceanographic buoys.

So, in the area of ​​the earthquake, waves with a height of about 10 meters were noted.

Earlier, the US Tsunami Warning Center circulated a message about the possibility of a tsunami, which threatens the western coasts of the United States and Canada.

It was reported that the first waves can reach Kodiak Island at 01:45 local time (13:45 Moscow time). It is also not ruled out that in four hours the “big wave” can come to the Hawaiian Islands.
