Carney along with the US Navy destroyers Ross, Donald Cook and Porter, also equipped with the Aegis missile defense system, stationed on a permanent basis in Europe, together with the Aegis ground bases in Poland and Romania, are components of the program for the construction of the European phased adaptive missile defense system.
