Mexican Navy to Participate In Multinational Military Exercises

Mexican Navy personnel will participate in several multinational exercises after their involvement was approved by the Senate, transcended today.

The plenary session of the Upper House of Congress approved the opinions of the Foreign Affairs and Marine Commissions, in order for Mexican troops to move to the waters of the Bahamas, California (United States), and Cartagena (Colombia).

The Mexican Navy will participate in the Tradewinds 2018 exercises from June 5 to 25 on the coasts of the Bahamas.

They will also be at the Rimpac maneuvers, from June 25 to August 2 in southern California waters, and at Unitas Atl√°ntico 2018, from August 31 to September 11.

In the three exercises mentioned, the United States Navy plays a predominant role.

Mexico also has 12 military experts and a civilian official participating in the so-called peace operations of the United Nations, (Western Sahara, Central African Republic and Colombia).
