The frigate of the Black Sea Fleet, Admiral Essen, completed the business trip to the island of Poros (Greece) and continued its tasks in the Mediterranean. This was reported to the press service of the fleet on Wednesday, Tass reports.
“The arrival of the Russian ship on the island of Poros was timed to coincide with the 190th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and Greece. In commemoration of this event, the crew of the Russian ship took part in laying wreaths at the memorial plaque at the residence of the first Greek president Ioannis Kapodistriya, “the press service said.
During the stay in the port for the personnel of the ship excursions to the sights of the island connected with the history of the Russian fleet were organized.
During his stay in the port of Poros, the ship was visited by the extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of Russia in Greece, Andrei Maslov, as well as the officers of the military attaché and the embassy.
