Some dogs love swimming in the sea when it’s summer, as well as Nellie, a one-and-a-half-year-old dog who made her human, Lisa Delong spend the fright of her life on a beach in Halifax, Canada, while her dog was disoriented at sea.
Lisa praises the “disinterested” man who rescued Nellie after she swam too far and was disoriented.
Nellie was far away, and it was obvious that she could not find her way back to shore. It was then that terror invaded her human.
“I think she thought she was going to take a good bath and then she got confused about where to go. She really could not tell where she needed to go back. ”
It turns out that Nellie was about 1,000 feet (300 meters) from the shore, she was swimming in circles slowly, and confused. Lisa was horrified and she could only stand on the shore helplessly.
“I’m not very big and I certainly knew that I was not strong enough to swim 300 meters and bring her back. There was nothing that I really could have done. ”
A disinterested man saves a disoriented bitch in the sea
A crowd of people was gathered on the beach trying to get Nellie’s attention, but that did not work.
“I do not think he even heard the call. Several people were screaming and trying to get his attention, but I do not think he even heard us at that moment. ”
At that time, Adam Parker arrived on the scene, and Nellie had been swimming in circles for about an hour. He was walking with his dog Otis when he heard the screams on the beach.
“I heard a guy saying that Nellie had been swimming for an hour, and that people had called the yacht club for help,” said Adam, who is also a paramedic, and did not hesitate to jump into the water.
“I would not have been able to live with myself if I had been standing there watching Nellie drown. So I made the decision to go after her. ”
When Adam reached Nellie, he was out of breath and it did not look like he could have stayed above the water much longer, so Adam took Nellie by the neck and directed her towards the shore.
Once they were both back on solid ground, Nellie finally dropped the ball she had been carrying all that time in her mouth, and covered Adam with kisses of thanks. “She seemed very grateful,” said Adam.
Nellie was not the only one who was grateful to Adam. “I really think she would not have made it,” Lisa said. “It’s really amazing. I’m very grateful”.
Lisa is very grateful to the man who saved her bitch
“I thought he was very disinterested. It could have been dangerous for him too, “Lisa said. She says that Nellie was tired, but otherwise well after the rescue. He said there’s no doubt that his dog had not found his way back to the coast without Adam.
Besides being exhausted, Nellie even seemed a little proud. “She did not lose her ball all the time,” Lisa said. “I was proud of myself, I think.” Well it seems that Nellie was happy to have recovered the ball, which did not even realize the danger that was running.
Although this story has a happy ending, it is important to remind them that our dogs are like a child, that they should always be protected by us and we should not neglect them because then they will be running a serious risk, as happened with Nellie.
