Investigative bodies of the TFR sent a case against the owner of a self-propelled ferry for illegal transportation of people on the Vilyui River in the Verkhnevilyuisky District of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), the press service of the East Siberian Investigation Department on transport of the TFR said on Tuesday.
According to the department, in early October, 2017, an entrepreneur for 4 thousand rubles moved people and cars from the pier near the village of Horintsy to Verkhnevilyuisky on the other shore.
“The defendants were provided with the service for transportation by self-propelled ferry” AYAN-28 “from one bank of the river Vilyui to another four cars and one truck with drivers and 19 passengers,” the message says.
It is also reported that the owner of the transport did not have a license to transport passengers and rights to drive by ferry. At the same time, the ship itself was found unfit for navigation, including no crew on it, there were water leaks in the fore and the hull, and there were no means of extinguishing fires.
The materials of the case against a man under Part 1 of Art. 238 of the Criminal Code (rendering services that do not meet the requirements of safety of life and health of consumers) are sent to the court for consideration.
