According to the data of the sectoral monitoring system of Rosrybolovstvo as of May 30, 2018, the total volume of catching (catch) of aquatic biological resources by all Russian users is 2005.32 thousand tons, the backlog from last year’s indicators was reduced to 0.1% or 2.44 thousand tons.
In the Far East fishery basin, fishermen are actively increasing the rate of pollock catch – 1014.7 thousand tons were produced, which is 13.3 thousand tons more than last year. The total catch by the basin is 1347,22 thousand tons, the lag from the indicators of 2017 was reduced to 19,9 thousand tons.
The Northern Fisheries Pool maintains leadership positions in catch volumes – fishermen have mastered almost 303 thousand tons, which is more than last year’s indicators by 60 thousand tons. In the cod fishery, the volume of production decreased by 1,12 thousand tons and is 173 thousand tons. The volume of haddock catch became less than in the previous year by 10,2 thousand tons – 38,9 thousand tons.
In the Western fishing basin, there is also an increase in total catch relative to the previous year by 4.7 thousand tons – up to 49.3 thousand tons. The catch of sprat is 30.5 thousand tonnes, which is 2.9 thousand tonnes more than last year. Catch of Baltic herring increased by 2.3 thousand tons – to 14.6 thousand tons.
In the Azov-Black Sea fisheries basin, the total catch (catch) of aquatic biological resources was 34.9 thousand tons, which is 8.5 thousand tons less than the level of the previous year. This is due to a decrease in the production of anchovy by 5.8 thousand tons – up to 21.7 thousand tons, tulles by 1.3 thousand tons – up to 2.7 thousand tons and other objects of the fishery.
In the Volga-Caspian fishery basin, the total catch is 22.2 thousand tons, the lag of the last year is 5.1 thousand tons, due to the decrease in the sprat yield by 0.16 thousand tons to 0.47 thousand tons, tons, as well as partial, freshwater and other fishery objects.
In the zones of foreign states, Russian fishermen have mastered 5.2 thousand tons more than last year – 195.6 thousand tons.
In the convention areas and the open part of the World Ocean, Russian users produced 46.1 thousand tons, which is 37.6 thousand tons less than the level of the previous year due to a decrease in the number of vessels in the fishery.
