BAE SYSTEMS WILL BUILD THE NEW AUSTRALIAN FRIGATES – VIDEO

THE AUSTRALIAN FRIGATES WILL BE DESIGNED BY BAE SYSTEMS AND BUILT BY ASC SHIPBUILDING (AT THE OSBORNE SHIPYARD).

The contract for the nine Australian frigates Sea 5000, which will form the Hunter class, is valued at 35,000 M

$(22,200 M €).

In the following link you will find more information about the new constructions for the Australian Navy:

They chose Fincantieri, with their frigate Fremm, and Navantia, with their F-100. BAE presented its Type 26 (which is already in production for the British Royal Navy).

These new frigates will be equipped with the Australian CEA radar, under development, and with the Aegis combat management system of the US Navy.

According to the Australian Navy, this program will create 4,000 direct jobs throughout the country and will be an opportunity for the local industry.

The Hunter class will enter service at the end of 2020 replacing the eight Anzac frigates, which entered service in 1996.
