The Norwegian offshore service supplier Solstad Offshore was awarded with subcontract by US company McDermott for the provision of light construction vessel services at the Western Australian Ichthys gas field development project. The finance details of the contract were not disclosed, but it represents an exciting opportunity for the company to introduce its high specification subsea construction vessels into Australia Pacific and Asia. The subcontract between the Norwegian offshore service supplier and the American FPSO operator McDermott will commence in beginning of 2017.
According to the agreement, the construction support vessel Normand Reach will assist McDermott main construction vessel in floating production, storage and offloading vessel. It will work on subsea activities, pre-commissioning and survey scopes.

The construction support vessel Normand Reach (IMO: 9687241) has overall length of 121.00 m, moulded beam of 23.00 m and maximum draft of 6.10 m. The deadweight of the vessel is 4,750 DWT and the gross tonnage is 8,973 GRT. The support vessel Normand Reach was built in 2014 by Vard Aukra shipyard in Norway.
Solstad Offshore is a Norwegian offshore service and supply ship shipping company that operates 50 vessels and two newbuilding CSV, including 19 construction service vessels, 22 anchor handling tug supply vessels and 9 platform supply vessels.
