Deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Leningrad Region Vladimir Petrov prepared an appeal addressed to the head of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation Anton Siluanov, in which he proposes to consider the possibility of creating a free economic zone on the territory of the region for the legal production of crypto-currency, the press service of the deputy reports.
“The free economic zone probably could effectively be located on the territory of the Saimaa Canal, which, in fact, belongs to our country, but is rented from Finland,” Petrov said.
According to him, taking into account the citizens’ current interest in mining and crypto-currencies, “it is necessary to take non-speculative actions, but open the opportunity to import equipment for mining into this special economic zone.” “And beat bitts, make money with their own labor, without entering into any economic risks,” he emphasizes.
The deputy noted that the creation of such a zone within the leased line could spur economic and social development of the territories bordering the European Union, attract investors to the region, and strengthen Russia’s position in the international arena.
