Ships of the Russian Navy will hold on Friday, July 7, regular firing in the international waters of the eastern Mediterranean near the coast of Syria, follows from a notice for aviation personnel (NOTAM) and a navigational warning for seafarers.
“The Russian Navy will conduct exercises on July 7,” the NOTAM notice states, which provides specific coordinates for the exercise area. In this case, the navigational warning refers to the conduct of “training firing”.
As follows from the reports, firing from Russian ships can be carried out before 18:00 Moscow time at the border of the territorial waters of Syria in the international waters of the Mediterranean.
On Wednesday, the area was also closed for firing.
On Wednesday, July 5, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the strategic missile carriers Tu-95MS struck the latest cruise missiles X-101 on the targets of the terrorists of the IGIL group (banned in the Russian Federation) at the border of the provinces of Ham and Homs in Syria.
The same area off the coast of Syria was closed from 18 to 30 June for missile launches from ships of the Navy off the coast of Syria. On June 23, the Russian frigates “Admiral Essen” and “Admiral Grigorovich”, as well as the submarine “Krasnodar”, were struck with cruise missiles “Caliber” from the Mediterranean Sea by terrorists of the IGIL group in Syria. A total of six cruise missiles were fired.
Prior to this, this area off the coast of Syria was closed from May 29 to June 4 for rocket launches from Russian Navy ships. On May 31, the Russian frigate “Admiral Essen” and the submarine “Krasnodar” from the Mediterranean Sea launched the launches of four Caliber cruise missiles for the terrorists of the IGIL group in the Palmyra area.
