The vessel was docked at the port, when fire erupted in the super structure after short circuit in some personnel appliances on board. The crew tried to get control over the flames, but fire extended to the whole accommodation. The local authorities dispatched firefighting tugs, which towed to the anchorage outside the port. All the crew on board were evacuated due to safe reasons. The firefighting continued at the anchorage, where the fishing vessel in Jin Gwo Dee 1 Haw was boarded by equipped firemen and was poured with water by the tugs. After several hours the flames were extinguished, but after inspection and investigation will be boarded by crew to assess the size of the damages.

The local authorities started investigation for the root cause of the fire. During the accident there were no injured people and no water pollution. The vessel is not yet towed to the dock, due to risk of new inflamination. After special fire inspection, the fishing ship will be allowed to dock at Port Louis.
