Subsea 7, Det Norske and Aker Solutions established the first subsea and offshore operation alliance. According to the 4-year framework agreement, the alliance will enable an integrated team using the most cost-effective methods for developing and improving their Norwegian subsea portfolio. The offshore and subsea alliance will combine the Det Norske’s exploration and production experience, Subsea 7’s capabilities in the capabilities in the engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning of subsea risers, umbilicals and flowlines and Aker’s expertise in front end engineering, brownfield modifications and subsea systems.
“This is an innovative way of collaborating with an operator and another supplier, working together as one integrated team across developments will promote greater sharing of knowledge and best practices”, said the CEO of Subsea 7, Jean Cahuzac.
In June, Det Norske agreed 4-year framework agreement with Subsea 7 and Aker Solutions for oil and gas projects in Norway and North Sea, but now the companies extended communications and succeeded to establish more effective alliance beneficial for all of them, reducing costs and optimizing operations. The total value of the framework agreement is estimated to 340 million USD.
