Saipem was awarded with contract for field development at Zohr gas field off Egypt. The offshore and subsea company received contract for engineering, procurement, construction and installation by developer Petrobel, which is joint-venture of Eni and Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC). The contract includes installation of 26-inch gas export trunkline, as well as 14-inch and 8-inch service trunklines at Zohr gas field. Saipem will also develop six wells at the field at water depth of 1,700 m and will install umbilical system.
At the field will be deployed ultra-deepwater pipelaying vessel Castorone, trench/pipelay barge Castoro 10, semi-submersible pipelayer Castoro Sei and other specialized vessels. The work will be commenced in end of the month and will last until end of 2017. The financial terms of the contract were not disclosed.
