Fishing trawler Gitte HenningThe fishing trawler Gitte Henning went in trouble after developed 25 degrees list to starboard and lost propulsion power on 7 nautical miles off Lindesnes lighthouse near Kristiansand, Norway. The swell in the area caused cargo shift, which led to increasing list and put the vessel in big danger from capsizing. The crew informed the local authorities for the accident and requested assistance. At the scene of the troubled fishing trawler Gitte Henning were dispatched tugs and rescue boat, but meanwhile the crew succeeded to relocate cargo and to stabilize the vessel. After assistance from the rescuers the engine was restarted and the ship proceeded by own power to Denmark.

The local authorities will investigate the root cause of the accident and will request inspection of the vessel at the next port. During the trouble, there were no injured seamen and no water pollution.

The fishing trawler Gitte Henning has overall length of 76.00 m, moulded beam of 13.00 m and maximum draft of 3.50 m. The ship is operating under the flag of Denmark.
