Dolphin Geophysical was awarded with contract for fast-track 3D seismic survey by Black Sea Oil & Gas in Romanian shelf in Black Sea. The company will employ its 16-streamer vessel Polar Marquis, towing high-resolution multistreamer configuration. The contract will be commences in second half of 2016, lasting 45 days. Financial details were not disclosed. Dolphin Geophysical will make a fast-track 3D seismic survey at XV Midia block, but contract can be extended to other fields from the licence of the offshore operator. Black Sea Oil & Gas has a portfolio of fields with total area of 5000 sq km in ROmanian shelf, including XIII Pelican, XV Midia and EX-25 Luceafarul blocks, as well as Ana, Doina, Luceafarul and Eugenia gas discoveries.

The seismic survey ship Polar Marquis (IMO: 9190298) has overall length of 123.00 m, moulded beam of 22.00 m and maximum draft of 7.20 m. The deadweight of the vessel is 5,494 DWT and the gross tonnage is 13,339 GRT. The ship was built in 1998 by Shipyard Palmer Johnson Norway.
