The container ship Annaba was fined for violations of pollution prevention regulations by Bremen water police. The vessel was detained in Bremerhaven for pumping out of 20 cbm of bilge water in Baltic sea off Swedish coast. The vessel was detained on the next port and local authorities followed investigation for the spill. The vessel will remain in Bremerhaven until further inspection and special environment survey. The container ship Annaba is operated by German company Peter Doehle Schiffahrts, which was fined by 40,000 EUR for violation of pollution prevention regulations in Baltic Sea and International maritime law.
