APM Terminals acquired remaining 40% share from container terminal in the port of Aarhus, Denmark by Aarhus Service Holding A/S. The both companies were operating jointly the Denmark’s largest container port, but APM Terminals wanted to consolidate 100% from the terminal, within company’s strategy for the development of the Nordic market. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. With acquisition, APM Terminals will had the whole 100% share from APM Terminals Aarhus A/S, which is operator of the Denmark’s largest container port.
“The decision to consolidate 100% of the terminal Aarhus made within the company’s strategy for the development of the Nordic market”, said the vice president of APM Terminals, responsible for investments in ports, Joe Nicklaus Nielsen.
APM Terminals Aarhus A/S container terminal has a depth of 15.00 m and is able to handle the largest container ships in the world. The cargo throughput of container terminal grew by 11% over the past 4 years to 442,000 TEU, outpacing the dynamics of most European terminals.
